I am an "old grouch" too but I usually don't inflict my bad moods on another folk who are trying to enjoy and benefit from online activity- no more than I would do that in person at a meeting or event. Some folks have no manners or regard for anyone else. They give us old guys a bad rap!
Mr.Karsh was no doubt a grand master. Observing him work, revealed to me that his photographic skill was only surpassed by his people skills.

Mr. Shapiro,
I thank you for the acknowledgement of my intent. I will do my best to defend my statements or my opinion in the attic, but that is a venue for discourse and/or disagreement. I would never rag on or disrespect someone's photographic opinion or their work in the other venues. I too am an old curmudgeon and actually take pride in it, but only in certain specific circumstances. My people skills have no doubt regressed since I retired several years ago and no longer have clients to placate.
I hope your health allows you to continue working until you are ready to quit. My legs have given out due to injuries sustained during my teen aged adventures in what was called in 1965, an undisclosed location in Southeast Asia

I too had an "adventure" in Southeast Asia, I sustained a gunshot wound in my right knee. They patched it up OK and, nowadays, it only bothers me when it rains or snows. I'm still working but most of my clients are in the industrial and construction industries. I spent my days among construction workers, heavy machinery operators, and folks doing hard work in the steel industry. Many are grouchy and cuss and swear all day so we get on perfectly. I also do lotsof food and beverage work and the chefs and kitchen staff are all crazy too- I'm in my environment!
I hope you are enjoying your retirement and still doing your photography.
First let me say, welcome home and I'm glad your wound was repaired to the point that it didn't affect your life too much. Your photo work sounds varied and interesting. I've never done much commercial or industrial work, sticking to weddings and portraits. I used to love to do landscapes, but don't walk well enough to get off the beaten path anymore. I mostly do pics of my grand children these days, and the usual family holiday gatherings and a few still lifes.
