This temple has some of the most beautiful artwork of all the temples. Hathor was the goddess of all the pleasurable things in life: joy, beauty, love, sexuality, fertility, dance, emotion, music, and wine. She also was the over-seer of motherhood, birthing, and welcoming people into the afterlife. No wonder she needed a beautiful temple.

I'm posting just a few samples of this ancient beautiful artwork. Enjoy the downloads.

Nice shots. The ancients sure knew haw to impress, that's for sure, and the dry desert air probably helped to maintain the color. Just wondering what the reliefs would look like in B&W. With more contrast they might be more interesting.

Thanks for sharing these images of some of the "Wonders of the World". The most asked question is "How did they build it?" I've always questioned how the artisans decorated them.

WOW ! it is beautiful. If you have more please share. It is so amazing to me how these structures and especially the art work and carvings have survived all this time, enduring invasions, wars etc.
Thank you for sharing.

Yes, we did a two week Nile River cruise first two weeks in December. That is why I was absent UHH during those days. I took 1750 photos to record it all, and after culling still have over 700 as keepers. One of our best trips ever.
