Taking advantage of today's egg prices. My barber has 30 hens on a small farm. She sells fresh eggs everyday at her Barbershop. $4.00/dz. Eggs are 1-2 days old.

Are you taking bids? I'll give you $7.50!
That’s fun. The eggs are a little expensive but they’re fresh and free of all the stuff the commercial outfits use.

The cheapest eggs we can find here are 4.99/dz so the Barber' eggs are a deal.

Last time I went to Fred Meyer’s (owned by Albertson’s) we got a dozen eggs for $3.99. We also picked up a dozen and a half eggs for $5.99 at Costco. Hard to believe eggs are cheaper up then in Kentucky.
Wholesale egg prices were over $5.00 a dozen a couple of weeks ago but have come back down to about $3.82/dozen (midwest) according to the USDA. But I also saw an article about the ongoing bird flu problem that suggests the prices aren't likely to come down a lot further and may go back up again.
Aldi tends to have the lowest egg prices here, and even they were at $3.48 a dozen last time I was there.
Supermarkets often sell eggs at below wholesale prices, figuring they'll make money on the other things you buy.
