I own a Pentax 6x7 and a Hasselblad. Never use them now but I just love picking them up and playing with them from time to time. I'll never sell them, ahh the old days of film.

You should be using the Pentax, I have 2 and they give great results, especially in B&W!! Great darkroom fun!!

Hey Mr. Grumpy. Did you get a look at the pics? If the asking price is too high, shoot me an offer. I saw a range of prices on the net and just threw the $450 out there.
Hope to hear back.
Thanks,
Dave

Yes, I did see them. And I agree there are a range of prices out there. Your $450 seemed in the mid-high range, not necessarily out of line. A bit more than I can budget at the moment. I am selling off some fly fishing gear right now to free up discretionary funds. 😊 If you’re not in a hurry, neither am I. Let’s see what I end up with and I’ll be touch. As I’ve said, this is an experiment for me and until I decide how deep I want to get, I’m limiting my investment. I’m curious whether yours has a 6 or 7 digit serial number.

Serial number is 6 digits. Does that tell us a mfg. date?
Fly fishing eh? I have 5 rods myself. Funny how that stuff accumulates. Haven't been out in 2 years. Really getting the itch to go.
Have a good one,
Dave

If what I read is correct, that was manufactured between 1980 and when they were discontinued. 1970-80 had 7-digit serial numbers. First digit was year of manufacture (1=1971, etc.), next two digits were month (01-12), and the last four were sequence of build in that period. As I understand it, the six digits are purely sequential.

Yeah, I’ve been a fly fisher for quite awhile, but I can no longer walk a stream so I’m looking to pare down my inventory of rods, maybe a reel or two, and a float tube. It’s the pits getting old.

Perhaps you should consider a Century Graphic 2-1/4 X 3-1/4. They are older cameras, I think the newest are from the 1960's. I've used them and they take great pictures. Film holders are available from sheet film (yes sheet film is still available), 6/6, 6/7 and 6/9 interchangeable roll holders (120 not 620). They have front swings and tilts; the front standard raises and lowers and the bed drops. Lenses are interchangeable. It does not have a light meter. This is a photographer's camera; you have to make all the adjustments yourself... there is no one to blame for poor results.

I have one that I would sell. It has a Tessar/Compur f2.8 lens and shutter. Works perfectly, recently had it CLAed. Bellows are sound, no light leaks. Comes with Roll Holders, Sheet Film Holders, an OEM grip with a shutter release cable and a Ground Glass Back. Crown Graphics are a camera anyone getting into photography can learn a lot from, I did...

If you're interested, I can send you some photos.

Thank you, but at the moment it looks like I might have something in the works. It has definitely paid off reaching out in this fine group.

Update: Thanks to the generosity of a UHH member, I acquired a Pentax 6x7 with three lenses. Unfortunately, two of the lenses have fairly bad fungus issues, while one had minor fungus. The body isn't too bad, but there is a bit of rust. All of this isn't too surprising since the camera came from Hawaii. I left it with a local repair shop for some time to have it gone through and get new light seals. However, after waiting months to get it back, he never did get around to doing the work so I finally reclaimed it. It sat for awhile as I got busy with other things. I eventually loaded a roll of film and shot it, but I still haven't developed it. Too many other things happening at the same time. But it is on my soon-to-do list. It will be interesting to see if there are light leaks, any effect from the fungus, and whether I had the skill to use it. 😳 At 5 lbs it's a beast for this old man to hold. I'm thinking a tripod is going to be mandatory. I did buy a light seal kit and will do that repair myself.

Last month I ran across an eBay deal on a YashicaFlex TLR from Japan that came in shipped for under $100. So now I have that to play with. I have shot about half a roll with it so far and need to get out and do a street walk to finish it. I'll let you know what happens.

I have several pentax 6x7's, and could easily be persuaded to sell one. I also have a bunch of lenses, and if you really want, an underwater housing for one.

Let me see how this one works out first. I *may* be interested in a lens later as I learn more about the 6x7.

I’m looking for a medium format camera that won’t break the bank. I’ve been taking photography classes at the local community college, including shooting film. I’d like to explore shooting medium format, but as a novice I don’t feel I can justify spending $$$ at this point. Just thought I’d put it out there. Never hurts to ask. 😊

What price range and what camera brand. I have 2 Kiev, Russian made Hasselblads that I used in my studio.
They have only been used for less than 30 rolls for advertising promo brochures. I would be willing to part with
one with a basic lens and hard case. I would consider any offer over $325.00 plus shipping

Ah … you haven’t read the whole thread. 😊 I currently have a Pentax 6x7 and a YashicaFlex TLR. I think I’m set … for now. 🙄 But thank you anyway!
