Long time no see, Joe!
With this traditional (and in all respects magnifique!) introduction, I do anticipate the exciting journey around one of the most interesting and attractive neighborhoods of the town named Planet Earth!
Ironically, I, too, took a “few days off of UHH”, and placed my first after break post yesterday.
Again, it’s great to have you back!

Thank you very much Eugene, it is good to be back again - and to see you back as well! Glad you liked this introduction, I just hope I am not going to disappoint you, high expectations are always a challenge! I will actually post relatively few typical Hong Kong pictures, and they will be mainly at the beginning and end of the Hong Kong segment, most of the time we are going to spend out in various towns and in the countryside including one island in what is known as the "New Territories", the land formerly leased by British HK from China - interestingly how the term survives, even though it is now all ancient history, with the return of the entirety of HK to China in 1997.

Joe, I'm happy to see you back again. You certainly have been busy in the interim!
I have never been to Hong Kong so you bring an entirely new place to me to see. Your architectural perspectives are as well done as ever.

Hi Ellen, thanks for your comment - and it is nice to be back in the active mode again! I am glad you along again on this last segment of our tour, as I mentioned to a couple of viewers above, this is going to be a slightly different take on HK than the ordinary HK visit, as we will be spending most of our time in the outskirts in the New Territories, but there are interesting and surprising places out there and I do hope that you are going to enjoy these vistas as well. Good to have you aboard again, Ellen!

Nice set and narrative Joe. Built up more than when we were there in 2007 which I will post soon.

Great narrative and history about Hong Kong Joe. I really enjoyed the photos of the modern glass high rises and the reflections of other building, as well as the shots of the old buildings.

Thank you Vince, good to see you again looking in on my start of the last segment of this Asia trip - glad to hear that you enjoyed the narrative and the images of these modern buildings. Hong Kong is quite an amazing place that we used to call home.

Thank you topcat for looking in at the start of my last segment of this long Asia trip, glad to hear that you enjoyed the images in this set and I hope you will like the captures in the following episodes as well. HK is an interesting city that we enjoyed calling home for a number of years.

Great start, a tad difficult for me to get all the history, but I reread some of it to help me.
Great pictures, and I love mirrored pictures of other buildings. I always look for that in bigger cities. What an interesting place to live.

Thank you tjm, good to see that you are joining the tour again and begin with the start-out post on Hong Kong. Yes, keeping all the historical aspects apart can always be a bit difficult, but it really just gives the framework for the images to rest on a solid ground. Glad to see that you are taking in one step at a time - and welcome back again!
