Here are some photo's I thought I'd share & get opinions on. I wanted to try & put HDR & light painting together since I never have so this is what I created. I know the composition isn't great, but I shot these at 1:00 in the afternoon, flat bright light & I didn't worry to much about what I got at the time. These were just test photos. Shot raw files & edited in camera raw. Used photo shop just to sharpen. Don't hit me to hard, remember I'm 62 & colored blind. Don't want to have cardiac t arrest from laughter. Thanks, appreciate your views.

Thank you I appreciate your honesty. Just keep looking for something new to ring the old bell. Certainly always thinking. Thank You.
my problem with the first one is that it's too dark, and the colors look like something out of a sci-fi movie. i know being color-blind is a problem... do you see any colors at all, or do you just have difficulty with a particular one? anyway, the bridge and the water in the first shot are just a bit over the top for me... purple clouds and green water, with everything else dark, just doesn't quite do it for me.
the second one isn't bad, still a bit dark and the horizon needs leveling, but the colors are better.
i rather like the third one, though the purple clouds above the horizon tend to make it look a bit odd, and the halo along the horizon itself are a but distracting. also, the water seems a bit too bright for the rest of the composition...
just my 2 cents...

I am not much of a modernist type of photographer, BUT these in my opinion are excellent photographs and creative thinking. Great job.

Yea I'm pretty well colored blind mainly on reds, browns, breens, blue & well I just see shades more then color. But other then trying these, I most generally just leave the colors alone, other then maybe ajusting the saturation if its to strong or weak. If its something really important I involve my wife who see's colors great. Thanks for looking, & giving me your honest opinion, that's what I want.
I love the first one!!!!! Most unusual but beautiful! I like them all but the first REALLY rang my bell best. Keep thinking outside the box!

Thank you kindly. I love to experiment with all kinds of photo's. Keeps me out of the rut. Been shooting for 30 years & just keep on keeping on. These are test photo's. Thanks again.
Loved the first two, especially the second. I found the third a bit too contrasty.
If you've been shooting for 30 yrs, did you start as I did with Pentax equipment? The first camera I bought with my own money was an Pentax H1a, which I still have. About 5 yrs ago I made a tough decision and switched to Nikon. Still have some great Pentax glass (more screw mount than bayonet).

Thank You for your kind comment, These are the first I'v tried this way & I think they will work with some color help from my wife. Like I said I like to play with different kinds of photos, although I like just shooting straight out most of the time. I appreciate ever one's view, that's how we learn.
I have to honestly say that I prefer the "old school" type of photography and I mean old as I will be 70 next birthday. Having said that, you've done an amazing thing with your photos that I couldn't even attempt. Thanks for sharing these.

Yes I did, I bought my first Pentax KM at a garage sale. Came with a 50mm, 135mm & a JC penny 80 to 200. It was a great camera & took wonderful pictures. Keep it up until about 7 years ago & traded it for a PZ1 which I had restored. Have collected about 15 different camera's all Pentax bayonet mounts. Thought about changing over a few times, but raising three boy's just couldn't justify it. Use a K10d & K100 for backup now. The rest are in a display case. I don't think I know what a H1a is to be honest. Would like to see it. Maybe you can post a pic. Thanks

Well thank you kindly for the comment, but most of the time I just shoot straight out also. I was blessed with lots of talents, photography really hasn't been one. I love it to no end & will never put my camera down. There's people that can shoot circle's around me but after 30 years I'm still learning & having fun doing it. That's what it's all about. I'll post some of my regular photo's as time go's on. Keep shooting partner & Thanks again.
I'm wondering...since you have trouble with colors, how about focusing on black and white? The second picture without the shoreline would be a good candidate for a conversion.
