Does anyone know what Captain Kim's ideal settings are in photomatix. I have downloaded the file but it's an xmp file which I cannot open!!
Thanks everybody,
John, Leyland, UK
XMP files are associated with Adobe Systems Incorporated applications like Photoshop and Acrobat. They store metadata, text-based information describing a file's history or features. They are only readable with Adobe programs, and deleting them will cause the user to lose the information they contain.
An Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP) file contains the metadata associated with a graphic, image or PDF file created or edited with an Adobe product. The XMP is tied to an individual file and is often invisibly embedded in the file itself.
About Metadata
Metadata is the information about a file, such as its title, caption or keywords. An image exported from a camera might come with metadata containing the date and time the picture was taken or the camera settings used.

Captain Kim does a tutorial on Photomatix, does anyone know what his "ideal settings" are?
I have downloaded his file but cannot open it, it is an .xmp file and can be opened in Photoshop but I cannot open it, does any member know what his ideal settings are.
Cheers, John
I just checked over Captain Kimo's site, think I found the tutorial you're referring to, dealing with HDR?
I can only find chapters 3, 4 and 5 on the website, and no reference to "ideal settings."
Can't find chapters 1 or 2.
However, in on of the chapters (I've already closed them, but think it was 3), there is an image showing settings on a camera, is that of any help?

Chapter 3 you think it may be, I will have a look later
