I'm glad to see this getting some publicity. I read about this years ago, but nothing since then.

Interesting, but to read the 2nd article, you must be a subscriber to the NYtimes. Which I am not.

How odd, my Dad and I both worked at Exxon. I part time, he full time. We worked at corporate headquarters where many of those scientists and engineers worked. My literal job was shredding reports. Call me Ollie North. I never read any of the documents. There were literally truck loads. Computer printouts, reports, analysis, maps, speculation. I spents weeks there shredding and filling 40 cu ft sealed dumpsters that were hauled off and turned to paper mush. We talked to the engineers and scientists. My Dad was in charge of security for the facility. The place was tight knit and family oriented, but all business. I can tell you that not once in the years my Dad was there and I worked there, did the topic of climate change come (heat) up. In fact, quite the opposite discussion if any. People were talking about the next ice age. What did I know? That was 40 years ago. My Dad and all those guys are long gone and part of the carbon pile.its so important to keep the narrative going to drive the e-energy money bus.

That was about the time all the news was global cooling, acid rain, Ozone holes and population control or starvation. Pretty much the same hogwash the government, educational system, and news media is spreading today, but the opposite. Funky predictions over my substantial lifetime have consistently fallen flat on their ideological faces. Hard to believe anyone paying attention doesn't gag when this crap is rehashed by the luddites!

Thanks for pointing out you and your Dads personal experience with the scientists was void of the global warming nonsense.

I think they have a limit to the number of articles you can read free.

Right. I wasn't able to read it today. I posted it because Lee (something), who made a comment as an Exxon CEO, is worth about $500 million. He doesn't want anything rocking his financial boat.

Methane has more than 80 times the warming power of carbon dioxide over the first 20 years after it reaches the atmosphere. At least 25% of today’s global warming is driven by methane. Human waste produces methane and with a population of 8+ billion people on earth, it proves that we must all be full of shit!

Uninformed misinformation - the vast majority of the world’s scientists and the data says otherwise.

The vast majority of those saying otherwise are full of hot air, and money dumped on them by Big Brother.
The earth has been warming since the last ice age, and the vast majority of scientists have little idea if it's ending and we're heading into a global cooling cycle. It's highly unlikely MAN has anything to do with it, other than to build insulated homes and heat them/cool them with fossil fuels.

Meanwhile the crooks are having a ball making tons of money from failed energy sources like wind and solar. Now they want to ban gas stoves and replace them with inefficient and expensive electric. The entire hoax is laughable if nothing else.

You're spot on. But don't worry, we have Al Gore and John Kerry looking out for us. They just travel the world in their private jets looking for enviomental bandits

Yes, we found out years ago that the research team warned management about global warming. And that management has been taking measures to protect assets from the effects of global warming. While spending big to convince the public that there's no problem and buying legislatures to make sure nobody interferes with Exxon profits.

The new information is that Exxon was at the leading edge of climate research, it knew as much or more than NASA about the issue and it's possible threats to the world economy, food supply, and political stability.
