Old is new??? Old digital camera may have a new lease on life.
I was reading an article that reported on young people adopting older digital cameras due to their flaws, over exposure and softness...

Gee, I wonder if I should resurrect my original digital rebel (6 mb) or D-20 (a whopping 20% larger at 8 mb). My favorite for family stuff, which rarely gets enlarged past 4x6 is a Canon G-10, which I bought from a nice lady here on the hog for my granddaughter, who decided that she preferred the convenience of her cell phone.
I wonder if those DSLRs still work...

Not surprised. Supposedly there is a renewed interest in film photography. LPs are also making a comeback as demonstrated by the expansion of LP sales in stores, etc. And I think that there is a renewed interest in component sound systems (tuners, amps) with quality speakers such as B&W. How long these will last is anybody's guess.

Well, it is true (given some exceptions) that sharpness is overrated. (BTW, a fad is a movement that runs out of gas :).
Its been my longtime experience that a movement will usually follow after the gas, but almost never precede it. YMMV.

There IS a large renewed interest in component sound systems, esp. in the area of tube powered gear. Believe me, I am going down the tube and DIY speaker rabbit hole as we speak... There has to be a reason that I really like the look of my 10 mp Sony bridge camera of 15 years ago... I think prob. because it does have more of a film look... I think there is a renewed interest in quality and that easily associates with some of the past.

I resurrected my first digital camera; a Canon G5 PowerShot with a whole 5MP. It was awesome at the time. It's a little dusty but it still works like new.

There IS a reason for tube amps, and it isn’t nostalgia, but it has to be a GOOD amp with inaudible hum and noise.
You can’t read it because an ad pops up every time wanting you to subscribe to the nyt. The ad covers up everything.

So time to resurrect my 3mp Canon D30?
C'mon, is this really new? Anyone hear of Holga film cameras? It seems like they were the new hip thing for the man-bun set, optical flaws and all....

Thank you, Rongnongno, for the post, interesting subject, I was not aware of "Generation Z."
You said, "cannot post a link here", however, you can post a link as a comment to your original post. Yes, it is annoying that as soon as a link is in the original post you are swooped to the never-never -land of "Links." So Rongnongno which of the many links Google gave me did you like best?
In 2001 I was still using my great advanced 3.1 mp Raw Kodak DC4800. Going back in my files, I found a cropped JPEG 0.28 mp photo of a gentleman and used my Topaz deNoise and Sharpen AI programs, the subjected it to Topaz Gigapixel to give a huge crisp file. To me
the Pixel War is over, or should be, old cameras with AI software are low cost alternatives. Here is the photo showing the effect of deNoise AI and Sharpen AI starting with 2.8 mp shown and when Gigiapixel was applied it was 5.3 mpixels:

A lot of detail was destroyed using the program.
Good to show.
