Hoggers,
I'm sure this has been brought up in the past, but......
I have a Canon 6D early version, not a mark. The menu shows "histogram disp" RGB. But I cannot get it to work.
So, my question is does it really have that function and if so, how can I access it? Thanks for any thoughts you may have. My EOSR has it and works fine.

If not already done, access usa.canon.com and download the EOS 6D Instruction Manual, the PDF file that runs 403 pages. Then, text search "histogram" in the file. This word appears 24 times and will take you to the several options to display / enable the histogram, along with numerous caveats. See which applies to your situation.
On the Canon site, you want to find your camera model, then support, then manuals. I believe it's the 21MB file listed first.
Thanks. I will check it out.

For DSLR the histogram view is one of the possible views when you select the blue arrow preview button. You only see the histogram in a recorded image.
That is different than a mirrorless camera where you have a live histogram before you take the image.

I can get the histogram in Live View on my DSLR. Nikon, Canon probably would offer it also.

Yes, possible in Live View for folks using it. I find it very non-user friendly. Also somewhat unnecessary since the exposure is visible.

Visible, but depending on the brightness setting for the display.
