Next time when faced with this kind of scene it might be best to compose it with the main subject in the bottom left third of the frame to have the leading lines in the clouds direct the eye to the subject and allow plenty of sky color to give it some pop.

Thanks for sharing, I sometimes struggle with composition and cropping.

I see many comments regarding too much sky, but the sky in the desert southwest plays an important part of the scene, IMHO. On the other hand I tried to crop closer to get the cactus more prominent with the hint of the barbed wire fence close by. Barbed wire also plays an important part in the SW.
