Micro Four Thirds Right Now

I decided to get into Micro Four Thirds photography after reading articles and watching videos. The reasons for doing so are probably well known….lighter, smaller, some less expensive lenses.
This is my first post with the Panasonic G95 and Panasonic 12-60 f/3.5-5.6.
More lenses are on the way.
So far I am enjoying the camera and lens.

Beautiful images. I use Olympus cameras with a mix of Panasonic and Olympus lenses since around 2002 and I have been very pleased with the performance of my cameras and lenses.
Your camera will serve you well although it is not very good for action and wildlife photography because its AF is only contrast detection.

Nicely done. My micro four thirds is the Olympus Pen-f, and as you said size and weight are strong suits for these cameras.

Thank you. Yes, I read and saw comments about not being good for erratic action. Fortunately I kept all my old equipment for when I want to do wildlife.

Camerapapi is correct that the G95 is not as good as some camera bodies for action shots. It can be used for action - just not as easy as some. But there is a bright side to this issue. The OM-1 is great for action and I suspect Panasonic will have dual focus 4/3rds bodies in the very near future. And the lens you have is a great lens.

Thank you! The sensor is 17.3mm x 13.0 mm. This is a size between APS-C and 1”. My thinking was that I know I can get good photos with a 1” sensor and even the 2/3” small sensor. I should be OK using a sensor that is bigger than 1”.

I’m impressed, but not surprised at your results. I have been using Olympus cameras since the late ‘60s/early 70’s. My first foray was with a Pen FT 1/2 frame 35mm. I was assigned
assigned to the 12th Reconnaissance Intelligence Squadron at Tan Son Nhut AB, RVN. I am definitely not an equipment snob. I’m a dyed in the wool advocate of the philosophy the best camera for the job is the one in your hands, not in your closet. Just saying that it’s the image that counts, and that it requires no apologies for what it isn’t. If you’re happy with your images, then you’re the judge. If someone wants to judge the quality of an image let them reach in their wallet for their answer. My ideal “good enough camera” is whatever I have at the time that way I have no reason to apologize if someone else opines about something they feel “would/could” be better…. There’s always a better, in the meantime everyone else can judge their own good enough. Good enough is transient; wave at it; smile at it; muse at it if you want to…. It’s soon historical like the rest of us.
I like your mft shots they’re great, not just good enough. Enjoy, and always keep your cell phone camera with you too!
