There are a few 3D images posted here each day and I was wondering how to create those. I have a Canon R6, is there a way with this camera to create 3D images, or is it done in post processing? if post, how?

Thanks,
Mike.

They can be made in post-processing. I have done it before, but a long time ago. I think if you google it you will find out how

My method uses two images and is not camera specific. I lean to the left, snap a picture, lean to the right and snap the second picture maintaining the levelness and composition as closely as possible. In post processing I drag the left image onto the right image and if necessary align them horizontally. On the right image layer I remove all the red. On the left image layer I remove all the blue and green. On the left image layer I drop the opacity to 50%. Next I merge the two layers into a single layer (shift-ctrl-alt-E). You now have a dark anaglyph image. So finally I brighten the new layer. Note: before the merge step you can slide the left layer left or right to make the final image appear more distant or closer.

Great result!! These are pure fun even if there's technical aspects to it. Thanks!

The stereo photography experience uses both your eyes in the same way stereo audio uses both your ears.

Some years ago, I mounted 2 AV-1's side by side on a single bar I made, that mounted on top of my tripod. Then using cable releases, aligned them up at the same object in the view finders, shot them together, at the same time. Then, taking the 2 rolls of film to be developed, keeping the film from the left camera as role #1, and the other identified as roll #2. When I got the prints back, I trimmed and mounted the prints on a stereo viewing card, that was viewed in a 1903 sterioscopic viewer. Looked beautiful. Don't know now, if it could be done now with the newer digital cameras. Give it some thought, and give it a try. You might find one of those 3D viewers at a antique shop somewhere. Good luck!
