"Natural History" published my photo/story of the story of Gosling Sandhill - a little Canada Goose gosling that was adopted by a Sandhill Crane family. This is the only documented case of Sandhills adopting a bird of another genus. It was published last March, so I'm a little late in posting this!
That was a wonderful story. Your photos and documentary were excellent - really enjoyed reading it. Sandhill cranes and Canadian geese migrate and nest in the area where I live in north central Illinois. I have never seen any interaction between the two and rarely see any sandhill crane colts. So I really enjoyed seeing your photos.
