OK... at the risk of being labelled a "troublemaker" or anti-kid, let me say,
1. I love this site.
2. I love teaching...here, at home, in my work, everywhere.
3. I love kids....I enjoy today's youth and their ideas. I interact with them daily in my work.
We now have 2 identified minors who have introduced themselves on the site, an 11 year old, and a 14 year old.
Admin has a rule that you must be 18 to participate here.
We saw absolute vitriol and anger break out over another rule (Nudes/Budoir Photos), and someone go thru angst over another (posting someone else's work)
So my question is are all rules considered enforceable or only some of them? And perhaps my real question...Who Decides (and how are these enforced)?

I believe that if there are minors on the site and the rules state "no one under 18" then they need to go.
I've voice my opinion on implied nudes (I don't mind them at all) but since the rule states No Nudes, even implied then the rule that says you must be over 18 should also be inforced.

Well, thats my bottom line too. MY personal opinion doesnt agree with all the rules either but if Admin saw fit to make it and we sign up...we sign up for the rules too. To paraphrase the old saying, The absence of rules is anarchy.
I don't really agree with the age limit on this site though I do agree that those are the posted rules and they should be enforced. I will go on to say that it is too bad that these young people have to miss out on what could be a very good learning tool for them and for us. But if there are going to be rules they should be enforced.

we must have consistency or caos insues and then after caos the return of international communism its a proven fact! Seriously send pm to the admin. I do agree that rules should be enforced across the board. I suspect that the 18 and above rule is designed to avoid a lot of neccesary regulations to prevent sex offenders from contacting minors. admin should take care of it.

I agree, these young photo enthusiasts could be learning so much, however given the inmaturity of some of the adult contributers with their snide remarks which have driven worthwhile adults away....perhaps the minors should be sheltered.

This is true. I have run across a couple threads recently that I would not want my 11 year old exposed to. When my children were young I previewed sites. They would probably not have been allowed on a site like this for just the examples you mentioned. The internet is also NOT a safe place for young people. Especially open forum like this where they can be privately contacted.

Based on how ugly some of the people on this Forum can be and how they tried to pick fights, I do not feel a minor should see how badly (god fearing or so they say) people act. Many of the old crows are evil and I would hate for the Children to get caught up with someone who tries their best to pick fights and hound a person who already has appoligize, for something that is none of their business.
We have some very cruel people on this forum. But, they already know they are ugly, which may be the reason they act that way. They just pathetic, and mean.
So the minors need to stick to facebook, and I have already had to tell one that they were to young and Sorry, but they could not join yet, but please come back when they are of age.
After being Bullie, by several women, I'm truely afraid for the minors.
Rach
Maybe we could pitch a new reality show...
Survivor: Ugly Hedgehog... Overexpose, Overcriticize, Overreact LMAO.

AAAAHHHH....hence "ugly" hedgehog! So THAT"S where the name came from!
:)
Just because they are not logged in doesn't mean they aren't reading and looking at the photos... the young ones that is.
Maybe a scarlet "L" could be attached to the minor's profile until they do turn 18.
That would be draft age or drinking age is some states and now it means "photo qualified".

This is where parental supervision comes in. Our computer sat in the kitchen while my kids were minors, and while I am sure that I didn't catch everything. They knew I could be looking over their shoulder at any minute. They also did not have their own cell phone until they were in college. I guess I really was the meanest mom. :)
