Brandt's Cormorant

There are many cormorant species, but by far my favorite is Brandt's. Their irreverent blue eyes amaze me, looking like emeralds. The cliffs in La Jolla north of San Diego is a great place to catch them, I assume at the right time of year. This last December they were flying in and out of the cliffs, many bring in nesting material. If you want to get an appreciation of their eyes, zoom into this image. IMO, they are amazing.

Taken with a Sony A1, Sony 70-200 + 2x converter. 1/4000, f/5.6 (wide open) ISO 1600.

Hope you enjoy. Comments (pro and conn) are always appreciated.

Sorry about "irreverent". I did not check my spell checker. The word would be "luminescent".
