I am a bit confused and curious as to why so many people are posting 3D photos lately. Most viewers likely don't have anaglyph glasses to see the full effect of the post. Is this a new trend? I'm seeing more and more and honestly I find them annoying. Only my opinion.

I don't find them annoying, just something else to skip

Maybe someday I'll have a pair of glasses to see them correctly.

When it was "a thing", I bought a big Sony 3D TV, 3D Blu-Ray player and 4 pairs of Sony glasses. I gradually collected about 10 3D movies. My favorite was "Hugo", directed and produced by Martin Scorsese. James Cameron's "Avatar" was good too.

I'd probably still be watching in 3D but the TV was too big for my downsizing move to a CCRC retirement community. I left the TV and movies for the woman who bought our condo so she could watch with her grandkids.

How about a separate category, ie: Birds, etc? Maybe that would help the mental health of those who find them objectionable. Who knows? :)

3D is cool. I'm waiting for my glasses to arrive.
It's B&W that is super annoying.

I agree to an extent, however I think if the picture would be posted both ways with and without 3D the problem would be solved. Then you could view the one you prefer.

I think it is just “trendy” right now, like all the over processed images of a few years ago. Hopefully it will fade away soon.

Back when I started seeing 3D photos on here, I bought a pair of anaglyph glasses to get the full experience. I was quickly disappointed when I found the 3D effects to be minimal and not worth the hassle. Now the glasses just take up space in a drawer and I skip the photos. Once in a while I will take a quick look at one (without the glasses) that has an interesting title. Nine times out of ten I just carry on.

I find the whole idea of criticizing what members should or should not post objectionable. I’m not sure how the posters of 3D images or B&W images are going to feel going forward after reading these comments. I think that if it were me, I would have a reluctance to share my work given that some number of hoggers are annoyed with the images that are posted. Furthermore, I don’t understand why the viewer doesn’t skip the post if 3D or B&W is so annoying. You have the choice to either view a post or skip the post. There is no arm twisting.

...but some people are just nasty enough to basically say "What I don't like shouldn't be here.".
I feel sorry for them......

I don't see a problem with 3D, since I don't have glasses I just pass them by
