Does anybody have any 1st hand experience w/upgrading fm Windows 10 64bit to Win11?

I mean in terms of Lightroom, Photoshop, any of the Topaz apps, esp DeNoise AI, Sharpen, & Gigapixel; & w/hardware like Wacom Tablet & TourBox Elite…

Any tips, warnings, gotchas, bugs & work-arounds, would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I have done it on 3 laptops and 3 desktops of various configurations. No problems since I checked to make sure they met the specs first. Our oldest laptop I have just left happily running Win 7 on the rare occasion it gets dusted off and used. Just don't invite Mr Murphy over to help. If he does come over, then give him some nice snacks (homemade cookies?) and what ever he wants to drink to get him in a friendly mood.

I did not upgrade from Win 10 to 11, but I bought a new computer with Win 11 on it. The Topaz apps work fine. Photoshop Elements works fine. In fact, all of the old programs I had installed on my old computer work fine on the new one. So I would say no reason to hesitate.

Many apps that are already on the machine will Grandfather in running in some sort of adaptive mode. New installs usually have to be a version designed for Win 11 (almost all Win 11 apps are also Win 10 apps).

My wife's laptop was Win 10.
I replaced my laptop, came with 11.
She waited a few weeks (I'm a heavy computer user) and asked me if I liked 11.
Coming from Win 7, I told her big difference, but seems to be fine.
She updated her 10 box to 11. No problems, she said it was a bit different (from 10), but is not displeased with the update.
While we don't use any of the apps you listed, all of the ones we use worked fine under 11,
including Quicken 2007 and WS-FTP95. All my old editing software runs fine.

My PC isn't very old, came with Win 10. I upgraded to Win 11 with no problems.

I left my old desktop on !0 and upgraded the laptop to 11.

My biggest gripe is that I can't move the task bar to the top of the screen. My PhotoShop CS5 still works just fine on Win 11.

Thanks, consider something fm Stardock software. They make great UI & OS customization tools I've used for years!

One tip. If you have peripherals like printers or scanners, leave them turned on during the upgrade. I left my USB connected Canon printer off, and it would not install in 11, even with the correct driver no matter what I tried. Finally, looking through the logs, I saw that it tried to install and failed. I sorted through the USB connections in control panel and after eliminating everything but the Canon, I removed that entry (which was marked inactive and couldn’t be changed), and then it installed perfectly.

I was really hesitant to do the upgrade but finally bit the bullet. In all honestly it went smooth and the system even runs better with Win 11 on it

I upgraded to 11 a while back and all my photo editing programs worked fine (PS, LR, Luminar, and Topaz products). Unfortunately, after the time period for changing back to 10 expired, I found out that 11 was causing problems with VR and gaming. I had to uninstall 11 and do a fresh install of 10 and have had no problems since.
