Thank you! He's a master of the alto. Very different from "Bird" or Cannonball, but he was so consistent, even with Brubeck.

really smooth....thanks again friend!
And what better guitar player to play smooth and tasty than Jim Hall? Thanks for posting this, Mark!
"Happy" on you, Mark.. .
I listen 24 hrs a day to our local public radio station [KXPR (88.9 in Sacramento)] for the past 40 years; and, every night at 7 PM, they switch over from classical to jazz. Because it is "background" for virtually all that I do each day, I am not specifically focused on the music. . .But, I do hear and listen. Last night, as I sat down to dinner, I said (aloud to myself) "That's Paul; and, Jim. Just perfect with a left-over prime rib on rye sandwich; and, a 2010 Zinfandel!" And, a couple minutes later, the radio host identified what we'd just heard. . ."Something Blue."
Now, how many musicians are so distinctive that you KNOW immediately who they are while NOT "paying attention?!"
Thanks. . .again, Mark!
I spent an hour on New Year's Eve listening to Rhe Dave Brubeck Quartet at Carnegie Hall album with my headphones on blast. When I need a recharge I’ll listen to Morello's Castilian Drums solo.
