Young and old, male and female Desert Bighorn Sheep were on the Colorado National Monument on a cold morning with lots of snow. The road was surprisingly open from one end of the 19-mile Rim Rock Drive to the other end. The sun would peek through the fog at times giving me some great light on the sheep. It was a great morning to be a photographer in Colorado.

Very much above the average shots of Bighorns, 'note. Kudos.

Last time I was in CNM the switchbacks on the western side were scary as hell. Glare ice on the curves along that --what? 9% downhill grade?-- had me puckered up a little. Even in 4WD.

Thank you for the kudos. Yes, we had the truck in 4 wheel drive for most of the time. Usually there is a gate up when there is a lot of snow and ice but it was open. Otherwise there wood have been no photos

They try to keep the road open as much as possible for Glade Park residents. I was usually up on the Monument twice or more every month to set up my telescopes at the helicopter pad. I usually drove up from the Fruita side. There is lots of wildlife up there as you already know. You did an excellent job capturing these sheep.
