I'm sure I'm the only one who does this, but I misplace things. After looking for something for several days, I'll order a new one. Within three days of receiving the new one, I'll find the original.
My latest "misplace" is annoying. I bought my son a $65 box of Hickory Farms goodies. Although it didn't have to be refrigerated, I kept it cool, anyway. At some point, I removed it from the fridge, and I still haven't found it. It's a fairly large box with "Hickory Farms" written all over it. If my dog had found it and eaten it, there would be cardboard all over the floor. I'll look again today, but I'm not hopeful.
One thing I should do is write down where I put things so I can find them in the future. That's been on my To Do List for a couple of years now. It's #67.
My guess is on top the fridge. 🙃Let us know when and where you find it.
If you have a list then you don't know where you put your list.

My computer! I store all sorts of things on the computer. Very handy.

I store a lot of things on my computer and yet a lot of time I can't find them.

I must say, I have a good system for storing things on my computer. I can pull up anything I want in seconds. Of course, I can't pull it up if I don't enter it.

Where did your computer go, the desktop is empty with unconnected wires?
Oh, the Hickory Farms box. Look on the chair on the porch where you were doing "Quality Control" sampling of the contents.
I bought a Ring doorbell last summer but didn’t get it installed. I tried this week but couldn’t find it. Finally did and also found the tools to install it! However the mounting bracket is still missing. I ordered a new one yesterday and I’m sure I’ll find the old one about 3 minutes after receiving the new one.

Our Ring doorbell came with a mounting bracket, and installation,
our son got it for us for Christmas and installed it. hooked it up to his account so he can watch the house when we go away.

I bought a new Tivo in April - still not installed. I bought a new TP-Link router in June 2021. Still in the box. I know that installing each will come with problems, leaving me without TV or Internet.

Yes, but finding it after I bought a new one is a bummer. I bought a fine-tooth saw a couple of weeks ago, and I found an identical one in a toolbox. Two is always better than one.

Do it now. Write down where you put your to-do list.
Then all you have to do is remember where you put your list that tells you where you put your list.
