I have been using Photoshop CS5 since 2009 with Windows 10 and am now considering upgrading to Adobe Photoshop Cloud. I have been spoiled having access to Photoshop loaded on my computer all these years, and am not happy relying on a monthly subscription for software I need that is floating around in the cloud somewhere. I can only imagine difficulties, i.e. limited access, interruptions, etc. So, before I make the leap for CAD $27.99/mo, I would appreciate any constructive feedback (good/bad) from current users of Photoshop Cloud before I make a decision.

You probably should do some more research and seek to better understand how the subscription plan operates.

First, you want the lowest price "Photographers Plan", something that runs $9.99 / month in the US. The full-feature software of PS and LR install and reside local to your machine, just like the older for-purchase software always did. A limited 20GB cloud storage area is provided at this lowest-price point subscription, so small it's only useful as a 'scratch' area for transferring images between your mobile devices and your primary computer where all your images and the installed software reside.

You appear to be researching the wrong subscription option(s). There are subscription options that offer more cloud storage and / or mobile-enabled software for the truly bleeding edge. Those are not what you want.

Paul is right. The "Photographer's Plan" is what you should be looking at for $10 USD per month WITH an annual contract commitment. As he said, you get the full Photoshop installed on your computer. It will occasionally check to be sure you are "current", but fully operates without being connected. You also get a lot of Lightroom programing weather you use it or not.

Perhaps what is confusing is that you can subscribe to Photoshop as a single app, all by itself. But, oddly it costs more at $20 USD per month on an annual contract. You do get 100GB of cloud storage instead of only 20GB.

There is one more option that is strictly month to month without any ongoing commitment. It is $31.50 USD per month. You can start and stop it as you wish.

Chg-Canon is correct on all aspects except one. The photography plan is $19.99/month. They did have that plan a few years ago but I could not find it today.
The current plan installs Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, Bridge and Adobe Camera raw. These programs are installed on your computer and not roaming around the cloud somewhere.
As far as interruptions, Difficulties or limited access, it doesn't happen. I have used Adobe for close to 10 years and found Adobe very reliable.
I hope this helps

oops sorry. Found the $10/month photoplan.
The difference is 1TB cloud vs 20GB cloud

I'm glad you guys have plenty of money. I personally will not get involved with any app that requires a monthly payment. Of course you rich guys have money to burn so I reckon it doesn't matter. (:

You have to be rich to pay $10 a month for the best photography software? I have had Photoshop since the first version, and it was much more expensive when you had to pay for upgrades to new versions. Now all the updates are included and available immediately. I am a very frugal person, and I have the subscription because it is a great deal.

I don’t believe that $10/month would be a financial problem for most people here. If you don’t use Photoshop or Lightroom then you have a valid excuse to decline to consider the subscription. But for the price of a couple cups of coffee you can have one of the best software packages available.

The software resides on your computer. The upgrades reside in the cloud. Internet connectivity is required occasionally to verify the subscription but you can use it offline most of the time.

Your images can be stored in the cloud but it is not required.

I don't pay for mine. Adobe gives it to me.

15 years ago I bought Adobe's Premiere Elements and learned it with the help of people in Adobe's forum. It works much like UHH. People ask questions and others answer. In the beginning I had lots of questions.

After a couple years I knew enough to answer questions.

A couple years after that Adobe thanked me for answering questions, offered me a "title" and asked me to continue answering questions. their complete suite of creative software. My title is "Adobe Community Expert".

Over the last half dozen years I've recieved about $4000 in software. I use Premiere Elements, Premiere Pro, After Effects (a little), Audition (a little) Photoshop Elements, Photoshop, Lightroom Classic (desktop), Lightroom (cloudy) and Lightroom (mobile) on my phone. I've just started learning Express.

I have a great deal of fun with always something new to learn.

If there was only one piece of software I could use it would be Photoshop - I've been using it since CS3.

I have 2 less beers a month, in a sense it's free.

I had the same hesitancy as you - absolutely did NOT want to go to a subscription based model to use their software. Having said that.....I finally gave in about two years ago and have the $10/month plan. I am very pleased to say I've had zero problems with it - updates are provided on a regular basis, I have the latest software with all the "new toys", and have never had a problem with performance since the software actually resides on your computer. I have only the base plan as I have several drives in my home for backups and storage. Good luck with whatever you decide.
