Tut's Tomb
Small but after you visit some of the other royal tombs you realize just how well-preserved this one is. It was in the high 80's to low 90's above ground & well over 100 degrees down inside the tombs. Lots of tourists, mostly from Europe. Also, without trying I photographed a tourist elbow in #4. Will provide photos of some of the other larger but not nearly as well-preserved tombs in a day or so.
Thank you for viewing

Fascinating! Did they let you use flash? What is that overall texture?

Oh no zero on any flash!

Texture: Sort of a semi-smooth stucco

These Egyptian artists really knew how to draw.

Something to think about. The tomb is about 4,000 years old. When we build something today we are amazed that it may last 100 years. What did they know that we don't?

When you're on tours, you frequently get "extra" items in your photos. These are really nice. The paintings look really well preserved.

This tomb was opened 100 years ago, November 1922. Deterioration set in from that point, being exposed to humidity (people's breath is the main source) and it won't last another 100 years. There are many books with professional photographs, taken when no one but the team is in the tomb. No elbows, perfect framing. However, being there, seeing the real thing, is a great experience.

Nancy:
I think you are right --
Down there clicking away with the Canon I really felt none of us really belonged there & that it was only a matter of time before all of this would be lost
