At the orangutang area the sun had not reached the habitats. Karen (age 30) was passing the time with a morning snack. Indah (age 36) was waking up from her sleep and arranging her burlap and excelsior trappings. She moved her gear across the grass and took it up into the aerial space to create another bed.

This is one of those times that the cages did not seem so small. Their life expectancy is about double that in the wild.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Nice shots Mike, the Orangutans are really fun to watch. If you or anyone wants to virtually visit the zoo, you can google San Diego Zoo Live Cams -- there you will find about 15 different species to watch. Because I have two monitors, I will often watch on one and work on the other.

I like the first shot. I think it could pass as being shot in the wild. And not at a zoo.

Nice Mike. I like the habitat the zoo provides them.
