I did not see these images yesterday but I saw your post today with a pretty similar image. You are right, the contrast is low but nothing that could not be fixed with a good editor like Photoshop.
I do not know what lens you used but at least in this image the bokeh is very acceptable.

The later post was a processed version. The contrast and color there has been adjusted.
The lens used was also in that post.

The news we are getting is that there is a resurgence.
