Nikon Remote ML-L3

Hey guys, I have two Nikon D-70 cameras and one D-7100 that I have used my ML-L3 remote with. Lately, I discovered that it no longer triggers the shutter on any of the 3 cameras, I also have an after market trigger and it doesn't work either. Before you ask, yes I have set the dial on the D-70s and the menu selection in the D-7100. The batteries are fresh. One of the the D-70s has been converted to infrared and it can see the LED light up on both remotes. As an engineer, this is mindboggling. I do have RF trigger I can use but the ML-L3 is so small and convenient. Anyone else have an issue like this?

Clean all your contacts. Sometimes enough juice gets through to illuminate an led, but not enough to perform an action.

Yes, quite common. I came across this discussion when I had the problem...

In my case, the cardboard shim worked.

Thanks for posting that link; I read it and immediately got out the IR remote for my P-900 and slipped a folded up piece of paper in over the battery like described. Remote went from operating intermittently to operating almost all the time. Learned something new today. Thanks!
