I recently purchased a Sony HX99. UHH member billnikon promotes the camera as the only camera he uses on vacation to “travel light”.
I bought a used one from B&H. This is my first post with photos I recently took with the camera.
I will say that the camera is capable of taking good photos. I am still learning how to best use the camera. It does appear that the camera is a good choice for travel.
very nice. It's the Avis car compared to the RX10iv but very capable camera. Looking good

Very nice photos. I have the Sony RX100 vIII and have loved it as a travel camera. As others have mentioned in various posts I have become very interested in lightening my load when traveling. The Sony RX100 has performed well.
As a backup to the Sony I am trying out a Panasonic Lumix DC-ZS70. This is also a very capable camera at a very reasonable cost. The Lumix is slightly larger than the Sony but does fit my larger hands better. The images so far are looking good. It also has a longer telephoto lens than the Sony.
We have a trip coming up in March 2023 so I am anxious to see how they compare.
Not sure what these smaller cameras will mean in the future for my larger camera and lens kit!

Panasonic Lumix TZ220 - 24-360mm zoom (35mm equiv.) 1" sensor. Shoots RAW. Good EVF, good LCD. Small pocketable.
Beautiful photos, Composition and subject matter .
Not only a good travel camera, it apparently is a good camera for everyday use. Very nice pictures
