I was on FB and scrolled across an ad for this product, sold at Adorama, to turn your smartphone into a real camera. It works with most iPhones and most of the more popular Android models. I will put a link in the next post.

Has any tried this? It's on sale for $19.99 in case anyone wants to give it a try and not spend the $90 when not on sale. If you do, let me know how it works.

Save your money. Cell phones are already cameras. This is only a little more than a grip. If you have hand problems, this might help.

It does nothing to alter or improve the quality of cell phone images, it simply gives one a different way to hold the camera. It's a cell phone handle, that's all.

Smart phone cameras ARE real cameras. When are those who believe otherwise going to wake up and taste reality. Sure, they are not dedicated cameras, but they are very real. More photos are taken with smart phone cameras than with dedicated cameras.

Thank you for your comment. I am not planning to purchase this; I only use my cell phone camera when necessary but was curious if someone else had purchased it or was looking for such an item.

I do find it amusing that the description touts this grip will make your phone real camera.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!!

Thank you for commenting, Longshadow. According to the description the buttons and wheels do actually work to make changes to your photo. Personally, I'm going to stick with my DSLRs.

I guess it has bluetooth so that the control on the grip can control some aspect of the phone.

Thank you for commenting rmorrison1116. The cell phone has definitely made photography more readily available by putting a camera in everyone's hands. There are photographers out there using them in their business which is just more proof of the improvements to the camera bringing it towards the level of DSLRs and mirrorless cameras.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!!

Thank you for looking and commenting, BebuLamar. This is what the description states:

Wireless ultrasonic connection.
The next generation of wireless connectivity uses a high voice frequency (18,500 - 20,000 khz) to transmit information between the control panel and the phone. Enjoy instant connection between the selfie stick and the phone and reduce drain on your phone's battery (relative to Bluetooth connection).

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!!

They're hoping people will nibble, chew a bit, and swallow.....

I figured out how to simply hold my phone in landscape in my left hand and run the controls with my right.
And yes, it IS a real camera, simply in a different "container".

I believe my Galaxy S21 does when I use the Kardia sensor and App.
