Bet you never knew this:

McDonald’s once made bubblegum-flavored broccoli. Here is one that will leave your taste buds crawling. It comes as no surprise that this attempt to get kids to eat healthier didn’t work out too well. It wasn’t that it tasted terrible; it’s just that those flavors don’t go together. The child testers said they were “confused by the taste.”

Did you know that McDonald’s served shrimp. At least they did when I was in Zurich many years ago.

Ok. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. How does this relate to B****s in Chicago?

In the mid 70's I had a second job at a McDonalds that was a test market for fried chicken (bone in type, not the nuggets). The chicken was actually pretty good. Probably cook time, amount of chicken that one could cook and having to have a pressure cooker k**led the idea. I tried to stay clear of the "McPressure" cooker knowing how well the ice cream worked.

Did you make the chicken or were you a taster?

Sometimes I was the “chicken guy” when I wasn’t on the grill. As for being a taster, if we had a real, real good night the one manager would have us cook a bag and make some fries and as soon as we closed we’d chow down before cleaning up. Full disclosure, it only happened once or twice. I’m sure if corporate knew they’d have stroked out.

“Confused by the Taste” seems like an understatement!
