How do you decide which cell phone takes the best pictures? You could ask over 600,000 people to cast more than 21 million votes on pictures they were shown. Marques Brownlee, on YouTube, did just that. He took pictures with various cell phones and then had people online evaluate them. Take a look at his test. You may be surprised by the results.
There's no pixel-peeping, and no looking at them under a microscope. Normal people looked at these pictures online and picked the ones they thought were the best.
Thanks, I never would have searched that if you hadn't mentioned it. (My family loves their Pixel phones!)

Smart family. I see one of the better ones is only $449.
Fortunately, I don't take pictures with mine, so I can shop by price and reviews.
I put "The Best Smartphone Camera 2022!" into the search box on YouTube and found it.
I could put in a link here, but links can screw things up on UHH.

OOOooooooOOOh that is going to upset the Apple fan club
I got a deal on the Pixel 6a for $299. Since I don't have an Apple and I can't compare I'm very happy with this phone/camera. Used Payboo too.

For those of us with zero attention span, anyone care to name the top 3 or 4?
I definitely wouldn't pick something as good because the majority of the people think it's good. I found what good for me usually not what most others think as good.
The new Samsung seems to be the clear winner for photography.
It has a telephoto option...that actually works.
Jerry, the best cellphone camera is the one that does not blur the images taken of Bigfoot or the alien space crafts.😜

Unfortunately, both Bigfoot and alien spacecraft emit a type of radiation that make clear photography impossible.
According to info available, the Pixel 7 Pro is at the top or very near it.
