The local lynx spiders are changing colors with the foliage, brown and dead. These guys are a brilliant green most of the year. Found this one earlier in the week. They are all guarding their giant egg sacks.

I had not considered seasonal color changes among Lynx. I will compare my photos over the last two years.

I'm just a puppy at this macro stuff, but in the last few weeks this is the color I'm finding. And I should mention, they are sitting on brown egg sacks and the weeds are all dying in my local ditch where I find these.

Remarkable fstop22. Beautifully colored spider and great information provided. I really enjoy learning about these critters as much as I do learning about photography on this forum.

That's a great shot Martin, I didn't know that these guys changed colors I liked them green but I like them even better in the multi color you really brought out the face and the hairs on this one

Cool. As a former spiderphobe I'm learning a lot about their non-threatening side, though I still don't like finding them in my bed. There's an orb spider on my front porch and I wonder how she'll fare with the cold weather(finally). I've seen them kind of languish and then die out on the sidewalk, which seems rather sad after all the work they've done and pests they've eaten.

Yeah, we have them down here. I never saw them when I lived in Wisconsin, or in Maryland...Then again, they are masters of camouflage so they may have a wider range......
