The New Hairstyle for Men

Have you noticed the new hairstyle among "cool" men? It seems to be anti-old man. When some of us get old, we have no hair on top, but lots on the sides. Now there is a new style among younger men: shaved on the sides and very long on top. Are they mocking us older guys? The young men pictured below want to be individuals - with distinctive haircuts. Not much difference here, though. I think this style began as a mistake by a drunken barber, and he convinced his customer that this was the latest hip style.

That's a Filipino haircut!!! I struggle to find barbers who will not cut that way. I had a good one, but he retired a few months ago, so now I'm having my wife cut my hair; she's learning (she's good at everything - except math!)

I quit going to the barber when the price went up to $2.00. My wife cut my hair when it needed it. Now I get a haircut about once a year. Both of them.
(Actually I have to cut my nose and ear hairs more like monthly or semi-monthly when they start to annoy my wife).

I give myself a haircut every couple of months. I got paid haircut in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 - three visits per year. Now, it's DIY. No driving, no waiting, no paying, no tipping - and no hoping that she doesn't make a major mistake. As a kid, I walked to the barber and paid him $0.75. Remember the signs, "Eight Barbers! No Waiting!" ?

Did you see last year that George Clooney announced that for many years he has cut his own hair using a Flobee = the device that combines clippers with a vacuum cleaner? "So easy anyone can do it"......

George Hamilton, too. He mentioned that on Johnny Carson. My wife used to use one. It's upstairs in the garage now.

I remember the style being referred to as "Whitewalls". (The "whitewall" tires of days gone by.)

This was a fad in the late 50s called then "white sidewalls" like the tires. Wonder if any of the "hipsters" know they look like grandpa used to?
