The zoom mechanism got stuck and wouldn't move at all. That's twice that has happened. Once under warranty and I paid for the second time. Since this problem has only occurred when the zoom lock switch is accidently partially moved when picking up the lens. Its repaired now and I've applied a small piece of electrical tape over the zoom switch so it cannot be moved at all.
