That evening after dinner our group went out to another Karnak facility to take in some Karnak after dark. Kept taking shots until folks started tripping over me, tripod & camera -- Eventually found my wife who found the group & bus that took us back to the hotel.

The lights used are whatever the Egyptians provided -- Did try to keep away from all the reflected glare as much as possible -- Some shots of course worked better than others. The settings I'll never forget were provided by my mid 90's JC night school professor when he had all of us shooting slide film & I asked just how in the hell do you know what settings to use when you can't use a light meter? -- Oh that's easy -- just start with 100 ASA, F8 & 4 seconds then move the shutter on down a bit say 3/2/1 -- Then wait a week get them back & see what came out --
As always -- Sometimes that works & sometimes -- Well you know --
