I have purchased both cameras and lenses from MPB and have never had a problem. Last night on MBP website I inquired about an older Olympus OM-D E-M1, specifically the shutter count. This is what I received:
Hi There,
Thanks for reaching out, unfortunately due to that camera being a mirrorless camera and the software that tells you the shutter count causes error we are not allowed to give shutter count for this.
Best Regards,

I check shutter count on all of my Olympus cameras and never run into an error. Has anyone ever heard about this?
Are your Olympus cameras mirrorless?

Yes. I have the exact one, O-MD E-M1. I want another one because I like them. I check shutter count on it and all my Olympus mirrorless cameras with no problems.

That's interesting...
Maybe the software that they use is different than the one you use and unreliable for that camera???
Or is it the camera (Olympus) software.

It is built into the camera. You press buttons in a sequence and it gives you shutter count, flash fires, sensor cleaning, etc.
They definitely seem to have a problem with their klunky website. I have been trying for most of the afternoon on to enter an order for a Nikon fit lens but their website just recycles itself and ignores any input when I try to enter the purchase information. I have had good luck with them before and want to buy the item from them, but I am getting tired of having to fight with their website just to enter an order

Give them a call, they will be glad to assist you on the phone.
Will
Are they possibly saying “software causes error” because the result is not totally accurate.

I don't know. Used Photo Pro (Robert's Cameras) shows the shutter count for their Olympus mirrorless cameras. I did a Google search for errors in Olympus cameras when obtaining the shutter count but nothing pops up as to what MPB is alluding to.
I am going to chalk it up to "we don't have the time".

I sent them some Canon equipt to quote me. I didn't accept their quote and they returned it minus one of the memory cards.

Or, we don’t want you to know.

Most camera repair shops tell you not to return a camera with a card in it.
