My wife and I stopped over in the San Diego area for a few days so I could spend some time in Ja Jolla and Santee Lake. Sweet of her. La Jolla cove is a special place, at least for me, with the Brown Pelicans and Bandts Cormorants. Being early December, I was there a bit early to get the full breeding plumage of the Browns, January is better, but the cormorants did not disappoint considering they were bring in nesting material. And Santee Lake always offers some opportunities for ducks. So, here are a few from those recent outings.
These all were taken with my Sony A1 coupled with my new (to me) version 2 of Sony's mount 70/200 f2.8 with a 2X converter. Most at the equivalent 40mm. Some have said that this combo makes the 100/400 antiquated, but I'm not so sure. The image quality here isn't bad, but for sure not better than the 100/400. But, considering how light version 2 is, and its quick focusing, it is a pleasure to use.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the images and happy shooting.
Very nice. Thanks for the images.
