I'm looking for simple photo editing software. I don't want just auto fix, but sw like photoshop is way beyond what I want or need. I expect to pay for it, e.g., no just freebies I used to have really good sw for my interest and abilities but those no longer work with MS 11.

If this has been addressed in other discussions, would appreciate direction on where to view them.

Thank you.

Have you checked for updates for the programs you like that are compatible with MS11? Also your camera should have a processing app available so check their website for the current version.

The next question is: What functions did you consistently use before? Do you use layers to remove or replace objects?

If the answer is "Yes" Bill_de's suggestion of elements is a good one.

I can recommend what I use, Lightroom, available from Adobe on a subscription plan. It can do at least 99% of what I need and full blown Photoshop is available if I decide to get deeper into processing.

bcspeer,

Go to the top of this webpage and you'll see the word "Search". Click it and you can search for "photo editing software" or "post processing" and you'll probably find more that you want to read.

Good luck and I, for one, would be curious to hear which one you choose.

You may wish to look into Photoshop Elements and Luminar - they are both easy to use and relatively inexpensive.

Another endorsement of Faststone. I use it for culling, browsing and minor editing. Free and a solid program.

Corel Aftershot Pro 3 is a simple to use RAW photo editor. I use it for basic adjustments and am very happy with it. I would recommend the Grad Filter Pro plug-in for it, which can be purchased online, through the software. It's a very useful addition.

I found Affinity Photo to be the easiest to learn and use of several programs that I tried. It is also economical with a one time fee (not certain exactly what it is now) and it has a free trial period. Faststone had been mentioned and might meet your needs and is certainly easy to use. Keep in mind that the Adobe subscription programs are $120 per year and although you said you expect to pay do you want to pay that much?? But Lightroom and Elements are good (Elements is not by subscription, at least last I knw, but if I recall correctly there are yearly upgrade fees). I've been through the same situation as you although it was quite some time back, and hope this is of some help. There are lots of good programs out there for you, some easier to learn than others.
