I had a real problem today the eagles where too close and I did not bring a shorter focal length lens. I missed 90% of the shots with cut off eagle body parts. This is a FF shot using a 400mm focal length lens.
Another excellent shot, John!

Thank Mike and the eagles where come in from the sun and making it hard to pick them up.
Nice problem to have...Glad you were able to get some shots...I bet you could crop some of the other one's and still make them usable!

Thanks Cindy, They were filling up the frame and have lots of headless, wingless and other body parts missing eagles. The shot I posted was a ff shot no cropping.
At least you weren't skunked. Nice shot.
Absolutely no problem with the 10% you didn’t miss!

Thanks raymondh, I was out there for 4 hrs so I setup under a tree for the shade as it was one of those hot fall days in South Louisiana. The tree ended up being too close to the action.

Maybe you needed to back up a bit. I know, I’m a smart ass. Of coarse, the goal is to get as much of the subject in the frame as possible (but well composed) but when we get greedy like that clipped body parts is the trade-off. Nice shot!
