I just downloaded a potentially fixed Topaz Photo AI with the result that it no longer needs to be opened as Admin. The problem has been corrected.

??? when setting up windows one has the choice of designating themselves as administrator.
When installing programs most give the choice of "for all to use"

Photo AI is indeed a miraculous bit of software magic. I ran Topaz Photo AI on an old 2001 heavily cropped photo the IQ [image quality] became competitive with those taken with modern expensive hi resolution DSLR...

My id, the only one on the system, is an Admin. The program was doing something that required that it be "Run as Admin"; however, it hung at that point rather than displaying an error message and exiting. The other option would have been to request permission to execute whatever it was trying to do as an Admin. There were two problems: 1. Normal applications should never require Admin privileges, and 2. Neither should they hang. Both have been fixed the right way, by eliminating the requirement for "Run as Admin".

Note: Since mine is the only account, anything I install is "for all to use".

It can be either a gemstone or a software package. In this case, it is the latter. Visit https://www.topazlabs.com for details
