Obtaining Shutter Count On Canon Cameras

Obtaining shutter count on later model Canon cameras is impossible when running on a Windows platform using shutter count apps or software.

I even tried reading an EXIF file from a JPEG file but couldn't find it there either.

I know this is possible to do on a MAC platform.
Does the shutter count have to be taken directly from the camera or can it be taken from a jpg file?

Can anyone help me here as I have 2 Canon cameras that I want to get shutter counts on and am willing to pay.

Exactly WHAT two Canon cameras do you have? It would help to know.

Last time I looked there were 10 or 12 apps for Windows that could get Canon shutter count. But, some Canon are accessible through one or another app... Other Canon models are not retrievable at all.
