My wife and I joined two friends in Las Vegas to see some the sights. One night in Vegas, 2 in Springdale UT, 2 nights in Bryce, 2 in Torrey, 2 in Moab, 2 in Monument Valley, 1 in Marble Canyon, 3 in Tusayan AZ then back to Vegas for a final night rest before an early flight home. The "locations most tourist overlook" we stumbled upon were Red Rock Canyon NCA near Vegas, Dead Horse Canyon SP near Canyonlands NP and Valley of the Gods north of Mexican Hat UT. We were blessed to have dramatic skies most days and beautiful sunrise/sunset lighting daily. On Zion-Mt. Caramel Hwy while grabbing a few shots from the Pine Creek switchback, we suddenly heard an Indian chant being sung from a canyon overlook above the final switchback before the tunnel. The echo was haunting as the sounds of the chant and beating drum bounced off the canyon walls...one song and it was over. Later while shooting sunrise near the El Tovar Hotel, I head an unusual sound getting closer when suddenly two big horn sheep ran past on a "ledge" about 8 feet below me. The ewe only inches ahead of a ram, running on a ledge path that was so narrow it was unbelievable. Anyway I have a number of pics that I'd love to share over the next few days as long as it seems they are of interest. In no particular order...hope you enjoy.

Outstanding set! Wonderful selection and execution. You used your time very well and hit almost all of the spots I would have recommended.

I appreciate your kind comments. When this formation first caught my eye it was about 200 yards. I thought it looked like a big horn ram at my angle. As I worked my way closer it looked like a monkey face. Finally I was face to face with it and couldn’t believe it was natural…on the other hand planting or chiseling something like that would be a dicey undertaking in a NP. It’s off the beaten path a bit with no visible sign of much foot traffic around it. I have a shot I didn’t process that I hope I kept…it has an almost scribed figure of a terrified man being swallowed in the Screamers mouth. On return home I’ve found a few other pics of it on the net. Thanks for stopping by and commenting

Beautiful set. Makes me jealous. Not only cause they are great pictures but I have only been to the Grand Canyon...non of the other places.
