I need a photo of a bird to go with a story.
I don't mind paying reasonable price or give credit. How do I find such a picture?

What kind of bird? I have a bunch posted, and you can use one of mine.
Thanks, a male and female fools quail.

Can't help you, no quail in the suburbs where I live.
Thanks for trying. The fools quail are difficult to photograph.
What I need can be either male and female together or in separate captures.
The main thing is to show the male Harlequin swirl on it's head.
And is also known as the Harlequin Quail. If a cuvvy ever flushes up from around you, you may have your own name for them.
That was a phanominal link. Thanks.

How true, where I grew up we had the "Bob White" Quail, named from the sound of their call. I got good enough at doing the call I could attract them from the pastures and wood lots of my Grandmother's farm and the one across the road, and they would come into the yard while I sat on the swing on the porch and "talked" to them. Some of the poor little guys would run in circles, frantically looking for the other quail. Since most that came were males, I guess my whistling had the tones of a really hot female.
And once while out hunting with my friend from the next farm over, I went to step across a huge clump of bunch grass in a pasture and just as my leading foot went over it a covey of about 8-12 burst out in all directions including between my legs like a bomb going off. Without even thinking, I leveled my shotgun and let off both barrels, and my friend got off one shot. I got one quail, during the hunt he got 3 or 4 and one rabbit. So I gave him my quail and his Mom made a pot of Burgoo Stew. Kentucky Burgoo Stew is made with veggies, potatoes, sometimes BBQ sauce and 3 kinds of meat, all domestic, all wild or a mix. It is one of those things you can change the recipe in many ways, and it is still Burgoo. Google it, and you can get a lot of recipes, but the very best was always in a cast iron pot over a camp fire.
I've also eaten Burgoo. Pretty strong but good.
Interesting, their rates are in pds.
