Lake Apopka with a freshly killed Moor Hen. She must have been hungry, she stayed on the carcass until we got within about 15 feet and then circled around behind us and landed back on the carcass. We wouldn't have disturbed her, but she was on a narrow road and the traffic was piling up behind us. Note the plucked feathers around her on the ground

Thank you, Mike. I had to retire my computer and start all over with a new one. I'm having a heck of a time trying to make it do what I want it to do. This was supposed to be a three photo post, but, as you can see...

Thank you very much, Frank! I saw one take a swallow a few years ago and knock it into a river. She wheeled around and picked it up from the river and flew off with it, screaming all the way up and out of the canyon. This is the first time I have seen one on the ground with prey.

Thank you, Jack. No, I think she is big and bad enough not to have to worry about it!

Thank you, Cloudhopper! I have about a dozen or more keepers of this beautiful bird. When I get my new computer figured out. I will post a couple more!
