I got the photos into Lightroom and played some. Here are a couple more color versions, and a couple black and whites. I still couldn’t control the bright white lights.

Must have been around 1951? I went with my Dad and brother to that theator. I was around 10 years old. (1124 Meridian St) Movie we saw? "The Thing" We walked to the theator from my grandparents house. 215 W 8th. On the way there was a Cigar shop, Gunsmith, and a great Bakery with fulisize cherry pies for 10 cents.
I was working in St. Louis in 1952, went to a theater a few blocks away from my aunt's house, saw "The Thing", walked back home late at night half scared to death. I was 15

Thanks, and good memories. The Paramount fell into disrepair some time after that, and the community got a Save the Paramount project going. The building was repaired and saved, including the big pipe organ. The upstairs ballroom was also repaired and refurbished. My daughter’s wedding was in the ballroom, one of the first events after it was reopened. That was in around ’95.
