This is the year! With the Hard top or as a convertible, no corvette is better looking!
Nice shot of a great looking car.

Oh how I would love to have my "Triple Black," "Fuelie" back...sigh
This is the best one ever. My all-time favorite. My wife has a 1996 version of this one (same color) and we are taking it for a ride to see our No. 3 TCU beat Kansas State at Jerry World on tomorrow. On January 1, 2011 we drove a new yellow one to the Rose Bowl to see the Frogs beat Wisconsin in a thriller. Keeping our fingers crossed that we get to take the red car on a big drive to California to see the Frogs win the national title . . . our first since 1938!! Go Frogs! Go Vettes!

I admire the styling of the 1962 ‘Vette but having driven one a couple of times in autocrosses, I can tell you that they are a bear to stop unless they have been converted from drum to disc brakes.

Agreed! However, when this car is compared to later generations it takes a back seat. Appearance isn't everything, and I will take my C-7 over the ride in this C-1. This car had an optional transmission known as a "rock crusher" and that also described the ride. The C-7 is as close to the perfect ride as any car has come, IMHO! My first job was in 1963 as a "car spotter" in a Chevy shop and I got to drive everything Chevrolet was building. 16 years of age and blessed every day with a different Corvette! Throw me into that briar patch!
