Is the Nikon D810 compatible with Lightroom 6 STAND ALONE or do I have to move to Adobe subscription service?

Adobe says the D810 NEF files were supported starting in LR Classic v5.6

Do you already own a D810? Do you already have Lightroom 6? The D810 has outstanding IQ, equal to or better than most of what's newer. It's just not a speed demon. I used one for about 6 years. I wouldn't make a decision not to buy one if the price is right. You can work this out later. There are alternatives to Lightroom 6.

I have D810 and PS/LR subscription previous I had LR 6 & PS I recomend getting the subscription, a lot has happened in LR & PS, the advances are worth the cost. I hate paying the monthly fee but its cheaper than a lunch for two at McDonalds.
