S*******s Conspiracy charges...

"Attorney General Merrick Garland on Wednesday touted the “tireless” work of Justice Department investigators and prosecutors that resulted in the conviction of several members of the O**h K****rs m*****a for crimes related to the J****** 6 US Capitol assault, including two leaders who were found guilty of s*******s conspiracy.

“As the verdict of this case makes clear, the department will work tirelessly to hold accountable those responsible for crimes related to the attack on our democracy on J****** 6, 2021,” Garland said.

During the news conference, Garland touted several cases brought by the department – including new litigation related to the Jackson, Mississippi, water crisis – that he said encapsulated the department’s commitment to the rule of law, public safety and the protection of civil rights.

A federal jury convicted two leaders of the O**h K****rs of s*******s conspiracy on Tuesday, while finding them and other members of the m*****a on trial in recent weeks guilty of obstructing an official proceeding.

His remarks also come as special counsel Jack Smith has had several days to dig into the parts of the J****** 6 investigation that he is now helming. His appointment signaled that the probe was now looking more deeply into the conduct of former President Donald Trump, who declared his candidacy for the 2024 p**********l race earlier this month.

Bringing the s*******s conspiracy charge in the O**h K****rs case was a risky move for the Justice Department and one that Garland initially balked at, CNN has reported. Investigators, having secured the cooperation of other members of the group and obtained additional evidence, eventually convinced Garland to sign off on the charge once they built out their case.

Three of the O**h K****rs facing the charge in the recent case were acquitted of s*******s conspiracy but were convicted on other charges. The partial victory on the s******n charge carries significant symbolic weight for the Justice Department, which can now frame the events around the J****** 6 as more than just a spontaneous r**t but rather as part of an orchestrated plan to stave off Trump’s 2020 defeat.

The fact that the Oathkeepers who entered The Capitol were NOT charged with s*******s conspiracy but the planners/leaders WERE charged, I think it looks bleak for Trump and friends.

I believe the evidence is there, but charging a former POTUS and locking him up would create quite a stir among a good portion of his supporters. Trump has pushed the US system beyond a reasonable limit, and DOJ is now between a rock and a hard place. Common sense would say that no one is above the law, and Trump SHOULD be held accountable for what he instigated through his rhetoric.

But why would I ever expect common sense to prevail in a country that believes everyone should be armed with a gun... displayed proudly... as a deterrent to violence!!!

(Note: I did not use a "?" to punctuate what is a reasonable question... because I don't expect a reasonable answer.)

Your belief is irrelevant and contrary to the actual facts, you believe there is evidence because you WANT to believe there is due to your bias. So, what is the actual evidence that Trump had anything to do with the r**t at the Capitol building? No BS assumptions or conjecture, just pure verifiable evidence.

Rac reminds me of the story of the guy who fell out of the 100th floor of a building. As he passed the 50th floor he was heard to shout "So far, so good!"

Let him spew. The more he posts his blind denialism, the larger the serving of crow he will be served. When it is indictment time, let's all make sure we remind him.
