I love hiking in Arizona's Superstition Mountains while photographing the unique desert and mountainous scenes, but age and global warming are taking their toll. So, during these winter months, I'm working with a couple groups of gunfighter re-enactors. I've been doing this for a few years now and it's been a blast (pun intended).

The Superstition Mountain Regulators perform four shows on Saturdays at the Superstition Mountain Museum while the Mojave Muleskinners perform four shows on Saturdays and Sundays at the Goldfield Ghost Town. While the cellphone wielding visitors line the streets, I arrive early enough to secure my prime location and try to capture the early stages of the gunfight, cause within a few seconds, there's enough gunsmoke to obliterate the scene and action.

For my legal protection, I get the performers to sign a model release and in exchange I present them with a good quality photo of them in action. Occasionally I'll get a single performer to go through a series of posed actions and select a shot to work on. The photos are edited in Affinity Photo 2, my camera is the Canon EOS M6, mll with an EF 24-105 IS tele.

This photo is of Rowdy, a new gunfighter with the Regulators who posed for my camera and this is going to be his gift for a signed model release. Your thoughts and comments are welcome.
