With time still to spare after leaving Thurmond, we went in search of more barns...Mail Pouch Tobacco Barns in particular!
The first barn was a short detour on the way to Thurmond on the south side of the Gorge. Afterwards, we then headed north to the Summersville area.
The beautiful entryway in image #2 is the larger spread that encompasses the MPB in image #3.
In image #4, if you look closely to the left in front of the weathered barn, you'll see a family of deer. That jagged rock outcropping just seemed to transport the barn back into pioneer days for me.
Images #5 and #6 are the same property and I loved the wonderful fall display with its timeless message. (P.S. This barn was a labor of love for me because I spent untold time in PP removing power lines so that the barn would be unspoiled.)

It was fun to finally see some of the classic red Mail Pouch Barns, Karin.

dmeyer, Don't know how you could provide us a better photo tour of the site in West Virginia. Thank you.
