All were built between 2600 - 2500BC during the Old Kingdom ---
Khufu - The Great Pyramid
The tallest at 481 ft tall -- It remained the tallest man-made structure for the next 3,800 years
Biggest - With 2.3 million 2.5-ton Limestone blocks with an overall weight of 6 million tons
Most complicated internal layout with three levels
Khafre - 2nd largest Pyramid
Thought to be the grandson of Khufu
The most photogenic of the Pyramids at 448 ft tall with its Tura Limestone Cap --
Appears taller since it was built on slightly higher ground
Less complicated internal structure with only one level
The builder of the Sphinx
Menkaure - Smallest at 215 ft tall of the three Giza Pyramids
Thought to be the son of Khafre
Recently had a facelift where many stones that had either been ripped down or had fallen were replaced
My wife considers it to be the "Cutest" of the "Giza Three"
Amazing structures. I wish I could have been there with you.
Great shots, I’d like to see them.

Ken, many thanks for sharing. We went to Cairo in 2004 driving in from Alexandria on the Med coast, it is a Roman road and as you near Cairo the Pyramids are visible on the horizon and gradually get bigger and bigger. Many thanks for sharing, I have many memories of walking around them and photographing them.
The people in the frame produce a sense of scale of these timeless stone works.
